We are excited to announce the 8th Annual Mancos Valley Resources Film Festival at the Mancos Opera House. All proceeds from the Film Festival are donated to Mancos Valley Resources (MVR), a 501(c)3 nonprofit who acts as the fiscal sponsor for 12+ grassroots projects supporting the Mancos Valley community, including the Mancos Food Share, the Mancos Trails Group and the Mancos Valley Farmers Market.
The Mancos Valley Resources Film Festival is an intimate night featuring regional, national, and global films spanning a breadth of outdoor, cultural and conservation subjects. Community members from across the region join together for an evening of connection, tamales, and bidding in our silent auction.

About the film:
From 2023-2025, Glen Canyon Institute worked closely with Good Intentions Paving Co. directors Will Buckley and Diego Riley to create What the River Knows, a new documentary film exploring the reemergence of Glen Canyon from the receding waters of Lake Powell reservoir.
As over-consumption and climate change force a reckoning of Colorado River policy, we are presented with the opportunity to restore one of the most stunning landscapes on the planet. What the River Knows is an advocacy short-doc that examines this unique inflection point in a centuries-long history, weaving together past and present to reveal a new way forward for the Colorado River.
*Sponsorship must be received by September 1st to be included in the poster feature.
All silent auction donation items must be received by 10/26/2026.
